ABVP girls’ wing initiates five-day skill development workshop

In continuity to the programmes initiated by the ABVP, ABVP girls’ wing initiated five-day ‘Skill Development Training Programme’ at Supertech Computer Center here on Friday. ABVP girls’ wing head Pooja Mahajan presides over the function whereas Headmistress of Government School, Sneh Lata grace the occasion as chief guest and teacher from DAV School Aarti was the special guest.

Welcoming the guests and the trainees Pooja Mahajan said that ABVP had began this programme since last year for the girls of dissimilar age groups. In this workshop, the girls are imparted training of creating things from home waste material. She added that during the workshop every day one specialist from the field would visit the workshop to teach the various things relating to the things like health, their rights, benefit and importance of girls education. Moreover, the girls having interest in specific creative art would get the training according to their hobbies and skills in specific fields.

Speaking on the occasion Sneh Lata highlighted the importance of skill-development training programmes. She said that several government departments too are imparting trainings to the unemployed youths. The best part of such type of training courses is that these can generate self-employment. “It is the need of hour that the beneficiaries should learn different skills and take part in economic development activities,” she added.

She also told that the trained youth could also avail the benefit of loan facility also to earn their livelihood by creating their own income generating units under government plans. State Vice-president Rahul Dev Sharma obliging Supertech Computer Centre said that ABVP is thankful to the management of the centre who took initiative in providing them the space.
