ABVP to run Young Voter Awareness Campaign: Shreehari Borikar

Pan India campaign from February 10th to February 20th



In the second phase of its ‘commitment to wide-spread the importance of right to vote among youngsters’, Akhil Bharatiya Vidharthi Parishad (ABVP) and Youth Against Corruption (YAC) to jointly kick-start a pan-India Young Voter Awareness Campaign from February 10th to 20th 2014. ABVP &YAC to call on youngster to give fitting reply to the central Govt. for last ten years of cruel mockery of people by choosing good-governance instead of anarchy and keeping intact the nation’s integrity, appeals to choose representatives committed to development - keeping national perspective in mind.
National General Secretary of ABVP Shreehari Borikar and National Co-Convener of YAC N. Ravi Kumar in this joint press statement said that the campaign of New Voter Registeration is still on throughout the country and is progressing towards the target of 1 crore new voter registration via direct or indirect medium. Voter Awareness Campaign is the second step of the same campaign where activists of ABVP & YAC will reach out to the colleges and localities in all cities and towns spread over 30 states and 5 union territories of the county, publicizing with brochures, posters, banners and stickers of the campaign. This campaign will reach out to the youth by holding personal contact (one-to-one) and will appeal youth to keep in mind the all India perspective while voting.
ABVP-YAC will educate youngsters to judiciously choose government with capability to provide good governance instead of corruption laden present UPA Govt. which failed on national security, was incapable to check the inflation and a failure on areas of education, employment and foreign policy
