Patna: Our activists on Wednesday demonstrated outside the Governor's mansion to press for their demands.
Since the Governor's residence comes under the 'protected' area, police had to use light force to remove the students who were demanding to have a meeting with Governor D. Y. Patil so they could apprise him of the anarchy prevailing in both Patna and Magadh University. Several students were taken into police custody and hauled to the Secretariat police station. Later they were released at their own cognizance.
We had been demanding a direct meeting with the Patna University Vice Chancellor, allocation of rooms in various hostels of Patna University, a high-level probe in the admission process of Patna College, and withdrawal of all monetary fines on students who miss their class.
