Srinagar is inundated and the J&K state government has barely responded. With thousands of stranded Kashmiris unable to meet their loved ones, the Omar Abdullah Government seems to have escaped into a deep slumber of callousness. The Jammu unit of ABVP met and discussed the issue. We demand that the stranded tourists be air lifted to Jammu. Large parts of Jammu including, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar are disconnected by road and the communication network is in a very bad state. We salute the Indian Army for it's selfless contribution and efforts in saving the lives of thousands.
We demand immediate relief and compensation to the affected people and a central monitoring committee be deputed for proper distribution of relief funds to the affected people. We appeal to the center as well as state government to pump in more government machinery to immediately rescue people and restore means of communication so that people are able to communicate with their loved ones. Joint Secretary Sugam Anand, Sourab Sharma and the executive members Akash Gupta, Gorav Gupta, Sahil Bamba, Avinash Sethi, Shubam Kalsi, Tarun Kumar, Ankush Sharma were present in the Press Meet.
