SFI should adhere to democratic norms

We took out a mass march to the University College here in protest against the violation of students’ rights by the Students Federation of India (SFI) in the college, in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday 31st Oct. 2014. The march began from the Ayurveda College Junction around 11 am was attended by around 500 activists of the ABVP and other like minded student organisations.

Our Kerala state secretary O Nidheesh inaugurated the march. He asked the SFI to adhere to democratic conduct at the University College and other campuses. The SFI is resorting to violence to prevent other organisations from working on the campus. The students are denied their right to study in a peaceful atmosphere which is condemnable.

We urge the government to launch a probe into the alleged illegal activities and examination malpractices that have been conducted by the organisation in the University College for the past ten years. ABVP state joint secretary V Manuprasad welcomed the gathering and district joint convener Akhil A S delivered the vote of thanks
